Optometrist

Dr. Christy Thuy Hoang received her Bachelor’s of Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry in New York City.

Dr. Hoang was born in Vietnam, and her family migrated to the US after the Vietnam War. Growing up with her parents working 2-3 jobs and unable to afford proper eye care, she suffered in school and sports due to her poor vision. She got her first job working at the eye doctor at 16 years old in Woodbridge, NJ, where she got her first pair of eyeglasses and contact lenses. She realized vision is so important because she was not able to see properly in school and any activities that she participated in. Since then, she is passionate about continuing learning and searching for new and better ways to improve eye care for people, especially those in need.

Dr. Hoang was recognized as “America’s Top Optometrists” in 2012, 2013, and 2018. She specialized in soft and hard-to-fit contact lenses (high astigmatism, keratoconus, multifocal lenses, sclera lenses, etc). Dr. Hoang also specialized in myopia degeneration, lasik co-management, cataract co-management, and eye emergencies.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her three active and adventurous children. She enjoys traveling and anything dealing with nature and is involved in her church.
